Sanja Lasić (1987, Sarajevo) is a visual artist, performer and social work educator. She holds an MA in Art and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna and a BA in Painting and Visual Arts from NABA, Milan. She works with video, performance art and drawing to create highly intimate interventions on identity, belonging, memory, and trauma. Her most recent research and artistic project „Sevdah of Lost Identity“ explores the musical and visual cultural heritage of her native country. The artist seeks to understand the connection between personal and collective history related to the former Yugoslavia, the Bosnian war in the 1990s and its post-war identity, based on her personal experience and the consequences of intergenerational persecutions and settlements between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
